One year on - Commonwealth Malaria Commitment

Last year, at the Malaria Summit, we witnessed a historical moment in the malaria fight as 53 leaders of Commonwealth countries pledged to halve malaria by 2023. Achieving this commitment will save 650,000 lives and prevent 350 million cases of malaria.

One year on, our task is to ensure those promises are kept and that bold action is taken to save the lives of millions of people still living under the thread of the world’s oldest and deadliest disease.

Today, on the eve of World Malaria Day, the people leading the malaria fight in global health, business and civil society are reuniting at the Science Museum in London to recognise the progress made since the momentous Malaria Summit 2018 and discuss what it will take to halve malaria in the Commonwealth by 2023.

Malaria No More UK is working in partnership with leading global digital agency Isobar, part of the Dentsu Aegis Network, to develop a digital tracker that will illustrate progress in the Commonwealth over the next five years. The tracker will launch in May ahead of the Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting.
